LogoJPG1.jpg (17415 bytes)

What is Mothers of Military Supports, Truffle Tuesday?
What could be more comforting than chocolate truffle, with conversation about your deployed husband, while he is away?

Truffle Tuesday is a fun relaxing way to expand and share on daily experiences of deployment while drinking fine coffee, soft drinks or tea and enjoying a truffle .

What is Truffle Anyway!  Truffles  Chocolate truffle

Program Overview

Mothers of Military Supports, Truffle Tuesday is held once every month, dates and times are posted on www.mothersofmilitarysupport.org website.

Whether you are having a good day or bad.

Mothers of Military Supports, Truffle Tuesday, is a great way to get together with other wives to share your thoughts and feeling in a trusted open fun environment. Wives of deployed military personnel are sometimes intimidated by new surroundings and issues of deployment.

Wives often find themselves for one reason or another not participating in the staffed Family Readiness Group meetings. When this happens military wives often miss very important information and resources for support, regarding their deployed husbands.

One of our member wives of a deployed husband said, "after she left her first Truffle Tuesday she felt, like some of the weights of the world had been lifted off her shoulders."

Not having anyone to talk to before hand, who truly understood her anxieties, and not knowing anyone personally in a Family Readiness Group environment that she was attached to, Mothers of Military Supports, Truffle Tuesday gave her comfort in a non-stressed, secure environment.

While at Mothers of Military Supports, Truffle Tuesday, in non-intimidating surroundings, wives of the deployed can, not only share their life experiences but also become more aware of their local Family Readiness Group meetings and their support programs.

Many wives from the 81st Armor Brigade,Washington State National Guard, Brigadier General Oscar Hilman, participated in Truffle Tuesdays during their deployment to Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

Mothers of Military Support purchases the Truffles, coffee, tea, soft drinks. If you are in the Washington area would like to attend or would like additional information on meetings or have a suggestion, please contact, Mrs. Elizabeth Johnston, Mothers of Military Support 1105 D 15th Ave #111 Longview, WA 98632 Phone:360-578-0908 E-Mail MOMSEvent@aol.com

Why Family Readiness Group (FRG) are so important.............................

MichaelAirborne.jpg (24935 bytes) This is our new member. Her son is in Iraq..........she's a teacher, her husband, the police officer......

Here's her letter.....she had a great day......networking is wonderful.

Liz,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to "hang out" with the veterans. They were very encouraging. Gert and Jeri were great and they insisted that I eat their lunch for free.

I was so touched. Anyway, I made a few connections that I thought I'd tell you about. First, several people took my "card" and were going to check with their jobs about donating to MOMS. :o) Second, I met Spring Duplissis who has a husband is deployed (her two year old was so cute). She is the coordinator for the wives of her husband's Army Guard unit.

She thought the Truffle Tuesdays was a great idea and I have her number so we can let her know details when we know them.

Also, Dixie Hotaling of the American Legion unit needs names of families that they can donate items to. If you know of some families and want to contact her, the number is 910-8434. I suggested she talk to Spring, (the Army wife coordinator which she did).

Anyway, the soup and sandwiches were delicious and it was, as you said it would be, really neat. We raised $308.50 and Jeri gave me two boxes of jewelry to give to you. She (Jeri) wanted me to tell you that she wants a copy of the article that they do about the award you received today. Dori
PS my kids loved those yellow wrist bands...thank you again!
