Mothers Of Military Support is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization
founded by Mrs. Elizabeth Johnston in 2003. Our mission is to provide positive support of
our service members, family and community, by providing services that are consistently
available, accessible, and responsive to the needs of individual service members,
families, and groups seeking assistance. To work with the community to contribute,
facilitate, and promote awareness of the needs of our men and women in the armed service
to the enrichment of all.

Military Facts
Women Veterans
The estimated population of women veterans as of 2001 was
1.6 million, or about 7.2 percent of the total veteran population.
10.26% of the 22.8 million veterans who use VA for
healthcare are women. Currently, women make up 14.8 percent of the active duty military
force and approximately 22.8 percent of the reserve force.
By 2010, they are expected to represent over 14 percent of
the total veteran population. Fifty-six percent of women veterans who use VA are less than
45 years of age. Sixty-two percent of women veterans are less than 45 years of age.
Military Wives
Military wives comprise of over 1.1 million
spouses of active duty and reserve troops.
These spouses, 92% of whom are women, serve as the anchors
for their families.
As a military spouse, family separation becomes an
unwelcome fact of life.
